HUMAN IMAGE

rowe_C_ (1 of 1)-10.jpg

This image is a depiction of conformity and the way we mask our inner being. The shaving cream is roughly and not entirely spread, leaving room for her skin to show. In addition, her eyes, hands, and neck are showing. This represents hope, that although we mask ourselves, your true skin will always find a way to shine through. This photograph is through the feminine lens

This photograph seeks to encapsulate the awareness one has of their own conformity. She rubs her mask into her face, showing she is cognizant of her mask. Her eyes are untouched.

This photograph is an extension of the prior two, but it is a male depiction. This characters body appears to be entirely masked. His masculinity is being masked.

This image depicts a message similar to the prior image. The shift is appearance of hands (a girl), which strip away the shaving cream and exposes more skin.

This image depicts the eyes. What i sought to demonstrate here was purity of the human body. This is slightly ironic as the character is wearing makeup, so a sense of masking still remains.

This photo challenges masculinity. The mascara, blush, and lipstick clearly contradict the body image associated with men.

This photo, again, is challenge to masculinity. It also shows a usually unexposed part of the human body, The M & Ms are in a clean order.

rowe_C_ (1 of 1)-4.jpg

These photos progress from order to disorder. The M&Ms are beginning to melt onto the tongue. This represents the theme of entropy.

The M&Ms are now chewed up, an extension of order to disorder. The theme of masculinity is still being challenged

rowe_C_ (1 of 1)-2.jpg

This photo is meant to make you uncomfortable. There is a clear contradiction between facial hair and lipstick (feminine vs. masculine ideals)
